The Guyana Mix Martial Arts Federation (GYMMAF) team, including the emerging winners of the 2022 IMMAF Pan American Championships, earlier today, June 30, 2022, paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Robeson Benn.
The athletes; Sheneze Bobb, Carl Ramsay, Ijaz Cave and Trevlon Clarke; are all serving members of the Guyana Police Force and members of the Guyana Police Force Mixed Martial Arts Academy under the guidance of Coach Troy Bobb.
Shenese Bobb (Lightweight) and Carl Ramsey (Heavyweight) both copped silver medals at the recent championships, which saw participating national teams from Aruba, Brazil, Colombia, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, United States and Uruguay, competing across sixteen weight categories (from atom weight to lightweight for women, and from strawweight to super heavyweight for men.)
Also present were Major Gavin Singh, President of the GYMMAF, Dr. Sawan Jagnarain and Mr. Neville Persaud, Executive members, and Ms. Sofia Dolphin, Public Relations Officer.
The 2022 IMMAF Pan American Championships were held in Monterrey, Mexico, from June 22- 24th, 2022.
