Traffic Chief urges motorists to comply with ‘rules of the road’
— failure will result in prison sentence
Police Traffic Chief Senior Superintendent Mahendra Singh is once again appealing to all motorists to take precautions when parking their vehicles along the roadways.
The Traffic Chief noted that these congestions are usually observed at key government organisations. With that, he indicated that motorists tend to park dangerously and, in doing so, block the roadways, affecting the smooth flow of traffic and posing as an obstacle for pedestrians.
Singh said persons who do not adhere to the rules and regulations of the road would be issued a ticket, and if the same is not paid, these persons will be placed before the court and even sentenced.
Along these lines, the Guyana Police Force is imploring road users to use the road with due care and caution and to park their vehicles in designated places and spaces.
