Tony’s Auto Spares Donates Vehicle to Lethem Fire Station

Representatives of Tony’s Auto Spares, Subrina Bhagwandin and Jason Ramcharan on July 27, 2023, donated a Toyota Hilux worth approximately G$14M to the Lethem Fire Station.

The donation was received by the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Robeson Benn and was handed over to the Chief Fire Officer (ag), Mr. Gregory Wickham.

This double-cab pickup will be used to enhance the work of firefighters in the township of Lethem.

Speaking at a simple handing-over ceremony held in the parking lot of the Ministry, Minister Benn, noted that the donation is a significant gesture and hopes that the gesture would signify to other members of corporate Guyana, the need to step up and emulate the example given by Tony’s Auto Spares.

Chief Fire Officer (ag) Mr. Gregory Wickham also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Tony’s Auto Spares for the kind and timely donation.

Representative of Tony’s Auto Spares, Ms. Bhagwandin, said that the company is committed to continuously upkeep its cooperate responsibility to Guyana.

Also present at the handing-over ceremony was the Mayor of Lethem, Mr. John Macedo, who played a vital part in the donation process. He noted that the pickup would not only be of great benefit to the Guyana Fire Service but also to the township of Lethem and its surrounding communities.
