The commissioning ceremony of kiln #15 and the launching of MAZ project at BMGG in Linden Region 10

The Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Robeson Benn, this morning (Friday, July 07, 2023) joined H.E President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Prime Minister Hon. Brigadier (ret’d) Mark Phillips, fellow Cabinet Members, Chinese Ambassador H. E Guo Haiyan, Commissioner of Police (ag) Mr. Clifton Hicken, Officials from Bosai Minerals Group (Guyana) Inc. (BMGG) and other invitees at the commissioning ceremony of kiln #15 and the launching of MAZ project at BMGG in Linden Region 10.

Kiln #15 is the first new kiln built by BMGG since the 1970s, with a capacity 1.5 times that of the old one. It is anticipated to take the productivity of BMGG to new heights, laying a solid foundation for the company’s sustainable development. While the MAZ Project is aimed at the mass production of metallurgical bauxite, with the gross investment estimated at USD 150 million, creating approximately 400 job opportunities for the Linden community.

This new facility will significantly aid in the continuous development of the Linden Community and the bauxite industry of Guyana as a whole.

After the ceremony, officials were given a walk-through of the new facility.
