Road Safety Measures during Victory Celebrations

Advisory: Road Safety Measures during Victory Celebrations
We are delighted to announce that the Guyana Amazon Warriors have emerged victorious in the Caribbean Premier League 2023. This remarkable achievement fills our hearts with pride and joy, and it is only natural that we wish to celebrate this victory together as a nation.
While celebrating this momentous occasion, it is crucial to ensure the safety and well-being of ourselves and fellow citizens. Our roadways will witness an increase in traffic, pedestrian movement, and general excitement during this time. Therefore, we urge all citizens to exercise caution and adhere to the following road safety measures:
1. Designate a sober driver: If you plan to celebrate with alcoholic beverages, ensure that a designated driver who abstains from alcohol is assigned to transport you and your friends safely. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!
2. Observe traffic rules: Do not indulge in reckless driving, over speeding, or any other form of dangerous behavior. Adhere to all traffic rules and regulations, including wearing seatbelts and helmets.
3. Stay visible: If you are on foot, ensure that you are visible to motorists by wearing bright or reflective clothing. Avoid walking on roadways or in areas with heavy traffic.
4. Avoid distractions: Keep your attention focused on the road. Avoid using mobile phones, listening to loud music, or engaging in any activity that may distract you while driving or walking.
5. Be alert to your surroundings: Keep an eye out for pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users. Exercise caution at intersections, crosswalks, and areas where large crowds gather.
6. Respect fellow road users: Celebrate responsibly and respect the rights of other road users. Do not engage in aggressive driving or any behavior that may jeopardize the safety of yourself and others.
7. Encourage responsible celebrations: Promote the importance of road safety to your friends, family, and fellow citizens. Encourage them to celebrate responsibly and prioritize the safety of themselves and others.
8. Report emergencies: In case of any accidents or emergencies, promptly contact the relevant authorities, such as the police or ambulance services, by dialing (911 Or 912).
Remember, our celebrations should be a time of joy and unity, and it is our responsibility to ensure that no harm comes to our fellow countrymen.
