Ministry of Home Affairs
Press Release
June 11, 2025
The Ministry of Home Affairs acknowledges the recent deportation of seven Guyanese nationals from the United States of America in connection with various criminal offences, including grand larceny (1), assault (1), sexual assault (2), aggravated assault (1), illegal entry (1), and assault and domestic violence (1).
While these matters are already in the public domain, the Ministry takes this opportunity to remind all Guyanese nationals of the serious consequences associated with unlawful conduct and breaches of immigration laws while residing abroad.
Citizens are strongly urged to pursue only legal and authorised channels for migration, employment, education, and travel. Engaging in criminal activity or attempting to enter or remain in another country illegally may result in arrest, imprisonment, and eventual deportation.
The Ministry remains committed to public safety, national security, and the responsible movement of citizens across borders. We continue to work closely with international partners to manage migration and law enforcement matters in the best interest of the country and its people.
