Newly Appointed Mexican Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Minister Benn

Minister of Home Affairs, the Honourable Robeson Benn, M.P., received a courtesy visit this morning from the Resident Ambassador of the United Mexican States (Mexico) to Guyana, HE Mauricio Vizcaíno Crespo, at the Minister’s Secretariat.

Minister Benn and Ambassador Crespo discussed furthering diplomatic relations between Guyana and Mexico in areas of security, visa requirements and migration, as well as other bilateral relations.

Guyana and Mexico established diplomatic relations on March 1, 1973, and have since enjoyed a progressively friendly relationship, which strengthened further with the establishment of the Embassy of Mexico in Georgetown in February 2009.
