MOMENTOUS, HISTORIC OCCASION FOR GUYANA POLICE FORCE

Training Manuals completed, to be used by GPF’s Training Academy

Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Clifton Hicken, this morning received the much-anticipated Training Manuals/Study Modules to kickstart the Guyana Police Force Academy’s courses that will specifically target over 4000 Junior Officers and Ranks.

The comprehensive training manuals are for the newly minted Guyana Police Force Academy’s ‘Certificate in General Policing Studies’ and ‘Certificate in Junior Officers Policing Studies’.

The modules were made possible through a collaborative effort between the Guyana Police Force and Nations University. Chief Executive Officer of Nations University, Dr. Dexter Phillips, said the project took approximately six months to complete.

The contents, however, were sent by the Guyana Police Force, followed by the compilation of the teaching modules and assessment rubric, which Nations University did. The modules, according to Deputy Commissioner ‘Administrations’ Mr. Calvin Brutus, are specifically centered around the Junior Officers Course and the General Policing Course.
