Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Robeson Benn, M.P., and Principal Personnel Officer Mrs. Eureka Duncan warmly welcomed sixteen (16) enthusiastic Work Study students to the Minister’s Secretariat on June 18, 2024, marking the commencement of Phase One of the Work Study Attachment 2024 at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The students, fresh from their recent CSEC examinations, were encouraged to embrace this opportunity and strive for excellence as they embark on their work-study stints. This innovative programme is designed to provide them with a first-hand glimpse into the professional world of work.
During their attachment, the students will be guided through a comprehensive experience encompassing career awareness, career exploration, teamwork dynamics, cultivating strong work ethics, and acquiring invaluable life skills. This well-rounded exposure aims to equip them with essential tools for their future endeavours.
The eager students, drawn from various secondary schools, will be assigned to various departments under Programme One of the Ministry, ensuring a diverse and enriching experience tailored to their interests and aspirations.
The Ministry of Home Affairs recognises the importance of nurturing the next generation of professionals and remains committed to providing invaluable opportunities for growth and development through initiatives like the Work Study Attachment programme.
