Ministry of Home Affairs celebrates fathers
-Fathers are our true heroes and we value you!
In a heartwarming gesture of appreciation, the Ministry of Home Affairs staff organized a pre-Father’s Day event to honor the contributions and dedication of the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Robeson Benn, the Permanent Secretary (PS), Mr. Andre Ally, and all the fathers of the Ministry. The event took place in the Ministry’s Boardroom today (Friday, June 14th, 2024), ahead of Father’s Day, which will be observed on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
As a token of appreciation, the staff presented Minister Benn and PS Ally with personalized gifts, symbolizing their unwavering dedication and paternal guidance within the Ministry and the wider community while also expressing their gratitude for their astute leadership of the Ministry.
In his acceptance speech, Minister Benn expressed his gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the nation. “Fatherhood extends beyond the family unit. It encompasses the nurturing of our communities and ensuring a secure environment for all. I am honored to receive this acknowledgment and remain dedicated to our shared mission.”
PS Ally in his response also thanked the staff for their kind words, emphasizing the important role fathers play in society. He encouraged fathers who are delinquent with their responsibility of fatherhood to embrace change, noting that being a father is more than just procreating. He also emphasized the collective effort required to achieve the Ministry’s goals. “This gesture is a reflection of our strong teamwork and mutual respect. It inspires us to continue our work with renewed vigor and dedication.”
“Fathers are truly the foundation of the family and, by extension, society,” PS Ally remarked, quoting Dr. Myles Munroe: “A father is the source that sustains, protects, nourishes, and provides an identity for that which he produces.”
The Ministry of Home Affairs extends a Happy Father’s Day to all fathers, from the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Robeson Benn, Permanent Secretary Andre Ally, and the entire staff of the Ministry.
