Minister Distributes All-Terrain Vehicles to Enhance Community Policing in Aishalton, Leguan, and Mahdia
In a significant step toward improving security and mobility in remote and hard-to-reach communities, the Minister of Home Affairs, Hon’ble Robeson Benn has distributed all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to the Community Policing Groups (CPGs) in Aishalton, Leguan, and Mahdia.
This initiative aims to bolster the operational capacity of CPGs by enhancing their mobility, reducing response times, and strengthening their ability to address security concerns effectively. The distribution of these ATVs underscores the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to creating safer communities through well-equipped policing infrastructure.
The following liaison officers received the ATVs on behalf of their respective communities:
• Everard Gome – Aishalton
• Shanol Munroe – Mahdia
• Dhansham Ramnarine – Leguan
Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Minister highlighted the critical role of CPGs in maintaining peace and security at the grassroots level. “These ATVs will enable CPGs to respond swiftly to incidents and challenges, even in the most remote areas. This is part of our broader strategy to ensure that every citizen, regardless of location, feels safe and protected,” the Minister stated.
The Ministry of Home Affairs remains committed to empowering Community Policing Groups through resource allocation, training, and infrastructural support, fostering stronger partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
