Minister Benn Urges Rapid Response at Lethem Fire Station

In a visit to the Lethem Fire Station yesterday, June 9, 2024, Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Robeson Benn conducted a comprehensive walkthrough, engaging with fire officers stationed there.
The highlight of the Minister’s visit was his address to the fire officers, where he emphasised the paramount importance of rapid response times in emergency situations. Minister Benn challenged the officers to maintain a state of readiness that would enable them to respond to calls within 20 seconds of receiving an alert.
To achieve this ambitious goal, the Minister instructed the fire officers to conduct regular drills and exercises, simulating various emergency scenarios. These practice sessions would not only sharpen their reaction times but also enhance their coordination and operational efficiency.
Minister Benn commended the fire officers for their dedication and commitment to serving the community. He assured them of the government’s continued support in providing the necessary resources and training to ensure their preparedness for any eventuality.
