Minister Benn Emphasizes Fire Service Role in Airport Safety at Ogle Visit

Upon arrival at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport, Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Robeson Benn, accompanied by Regional Divisional Commander Region 9, Mr. Raphael Rose, made an impromptu visit to the Ogle Fire Station, underscoring the importance of continuous preparedness in ensuring the safety of air travellers and airport operations.
During his visit, Minister Benn engaged directly with the fire officers stationed at the facility, commending their dedication and commitment to their critical roles. He stressed the paramount importance of maintaining heightened vigilance, particularly during aircraft arrivals and departures.
“The safety of our citizens and visitors is our utmost priority,” Minister Benn stated. “Each flight that lands or takes off represents a potential risk, and it is imperative that our fire officers remain ever-vigilant, ready to respond swiftly and effectively to any emergency situation.”
The Minister’s visit served as a reminder of the vital role played by the fire service in ensuring the smooth and secure operations of the nation’s air transportation infrastructure.
