As part of his visit to Region Two, Minister Benn conducted inspections in Charity to assess the progress of infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing public safety and community engagement.
During his visit, Minister Benn inspected the Charity Fire Station, which is now 98% complete. A total of G$100.2 million has been expended to bring the project to completion, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening emergency response capabilities in the region.
Following the fire station inspection, Minister Benn visited the Charity Market, where he engaged with vendors, schoolchildren, and passersby. While there, he distributed promotional items, including buttons, bottles, bags, and smoke detectors, as part of the Do the Right Thing campaign, aimed at fostering community awareness and responsibility.
Minister Benn concluded his visit with an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Police Boat House at the Charity waterfront. Currently at approximately 75% completion, the project is progressing ahead of schedule. With a total expenditure of G$45.1 million, the facility is expected to be completed by July 15, 2025.
The Minister’s visit underscores the government’s continued commitment to enhancing public infrastructure and ensuring efficient service delivery for the people of Charity and the wider region.
