Minister Benn, Commissioner Hicken Visit Injured Police Sergeant Thomas

— as he recuperates at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital

Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Robeson Benn and Commissioner of Police Mr. Clifton Hicken on Saturday, February 25, 2023 visited injured Police Sergeant, Javon Thomas, who is now recovering at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Georgetown.

Sergeant Thomas, who is stationed at the Rose Hall Police Station as the Station Sergeant and of Fort Ordinance Housing Scheme, East Canje Berbice, is one of two police ranks who were struck down by a speeding taxi driver on Thursday, February 23, 2023, on the Heartburn Public Road, East Bank Berbice.

Sadly, the other rank, Corporal Alden Reynolds, succumbed to his injuries on Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Georgetown Public Hospital. The deceased Corporal was stationed at Whim Police Station and attached to the Criminal Investigation Department.

Minister Benn and Commissioner Hicken wished Sergeant Thomas a speedy recovery. The Top Cop also assured Thomas that all of his needs at this time will be taken care of by the Guyana Police Force.
