Launching Ceremony of The National Road Safety Month

The Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Robeson Benn, at the Launching Ceremony of The National Road Safety Month of Activities 2022.
Road safety Month is being observed under the theme, ‘Safe Driving, Saves Lives!” and is a collaborative effort of the Guyana National Road Safety Council, the Guyana Police Force and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The launching ceremony is being held on the Lawns of the State House, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
A road parade and rally consisting of Members of the Joint Services, Ministry of Health and Students from various schools opened the ceremony.
The parade started at Philadelphia Street, New Amsterdam, then onto Main Road, where the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Robeson Benn, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Clifton Hickens, Traffic Chief, Mr. Dennis Stephen and Regional Commander # 6, Mr. Shivpersaud Bacchus received the “Eyes Right” solute. The parade then continued onto Veyheid Street, then ended at the State House lawns.
Also attending today’s event are Her Worship the Mayor, Ms. Winifred Heywood, Regional Division Commander 4 ‘C’ Mr. Khali Parshram, Regional Division Commander #6 Mr, Shivpersad Bacchus, Members of National Road Safety Council, Regional Chairman #6, Mr David Armagon, other Senior and Junior Officers and special invitees.
