Minister of Home Affairs, Hon. Robeson Benn, was in Region One as part of the national celebrations for Guyana’s 55th Republic Anniversary. This evening, Minister Benn will attend the official flag-raising ceremony at the Fitzburg Recreational Ground, Matarkai, where he will join residents and local officials in commemorating this significant national milestone.
Minister Benn is accompanied by a team from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Deputy Commander of Regional Police Division One, Deputy Superintendent James Tappin, and his team. Together, they are engaging with communities across the region to assess local needs, bolster governmental support, and enhance public safety measures.
Currently in Matthews Ridge, the Minister’s first stop was at Guyana Manganese Inc., where he received a comprehensive operational overview from the General Manager, Mr. Shang Liang Roberts.
Following this, Minister Benn met with members of the community at the Matthews Ridge Community Centre, where he listened to concerns and discussed opportunities for development.
