The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Guyana Fire Service mourn the passing of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Sandy Yolanda Watts-Hope, who died on September 11, 2025.
Sandy joined the Guyana Fire Service on July 18, 2016, and faithfully served with professionalism, compassion, and dedication. She distinguished herself as more than a colleague; she was a sister in service, a friend in the field, and will always be remembered as a guardian in spirit. Her passing represents a tremendous loss to the Fire Service family.
At the funeral service, Mr. Kadeem Gordon from the Minister’s Secretariat represented the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Oneidge Walrond, who extended her deepest sympathies to Sandy’s family, friends, and colleagues.
