On this World Day Against Child Labour, the Ministry of Home Affairs proudly joined the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security, schools, and partner organisations to raise awareness and take collective action in the fight against child labour.
Leading the charge were Minister of Labour, Hon. Joseph Hamilton, and Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Hon. Vindhya Persaud, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting children from exploitation and ensuring their right to a safe and nurturing environment.
This year’s theme, “Progress is clear, but there’s more to do: Let’s speed up efforts!”, serves as a powerful reminder that although significant strides have been made globally, millions of children continue to face exploitation.
World Day Against Child Labour 2025 calls for clear, coordinated, and sustained action to ensure every child has access to education, play, and a childhood free from harm.
Together, let’s accelerate our efforts toward a child-labour-free future.
