Enhancing collaboration in national security

Minister of Home Affairs Hon’ble Robeson Benn, earlier today (June 11, 2025), received a courtesy call from His Excellency Nicolas de Lacoste, non-resident Ambassador of the French Republic to the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
Discussions focused on current and future areas of bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on enhancing collaboration in national security. Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to broadening the scope of partnership between Guyana and France.
Accompanying Ambassador de Lacoste were Mr. Jacques Forte, Representative of the French Ambassador for Guyana; Commander Jean-Michel Canestrier, Police Attaché; and Mr. Noah Guillou, Intern.
Representing the Ministry of Home Affairs were Mr. Andre Ally, Permanent Secretary and Mr. James Singh, Director of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU).
The Ministry looks forward to continued engagement with the French Republic in advancing mutual interests and strengthening security cooperation.
