The conference, which runs from May 19 to 23 at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, brings together Toshaos from over 200 Amerindian communities spanning Guyana’s ten administrative regions. This year’s theme, “Robust Governance for Sustainable Village Development”, underscores the critical importance of strong leadership in fostering growth, resilience, and sustainability within indigenous communities.

As part of the conference programme, presentations from the security sector are scheduled for Tuesday. These sessions aim to equip indigenous leaders with pertinent updates and critical insights regarding developments that impact the safety and security of their communities.
