Saturday, April 12, 2025, the Minister of Home Affairs, Hon’ble Robeson Benn, visited the Bamia Police Outpost, a critical security checkpoint for both locals and foreign nationals entering or exiting the town of Linden or traveling to key hinterland destinations such as Mahdia, Mabura, Lethem, or traveling to Georgetown.
During the visit, Minister Benn reviewed the station’s operational records, including various entry books, and engaged with the officers on duty. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a high standard of professionalism, reinforcing the proper use of the force continuum in the execution of police responsibilities.
As part of his oversight, the Minister conducted a physical inspection of the facility and acknowledged the need for improved infrastructure. In response, he committed to ensuring that a new and upgraded police outpost will be delivered within the coming week to enhance the working conditions of the officers and the efficiency of operations at this vital checkpoint.
This visit reflects the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement infrastructure, promote accountability, and improve public safety across the regions.
