Engagement with Linden Residents

President Ali, Prime Minister Phillips, and Ministers Engage with Linden Residents Ahead of Independence Celebrations
His Excellency President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, accompanied by Prime Minister Hon. Brigadier (Ret’d) Mr. Mark Phillips, Hon. Minister of Home Affairs Mr. Robeson Benn, and other government ministers, earlier today (Saturday, May 25th, 2024), conducted a community meet and greet at Sunflower Street in the Valley, on the shore of Wismar, Linden.
This event was held in anticipation of Guyana’s 58th Independence celebration and the upcoming flag-raising ceremony. During the visit, President Ali engaged with residents, listened to their concerns, and participated in community activities such as playing dominoes and cooking, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and celebration.
Additionally, a number of farming tools were distributed to the residents, supporting local agriculture and community self-sufficiency.
President Ali also led a walkabout from Sunflower Street onto Burham Drive, passing through Silvertown, where he met and chatted with residents, further strengthening the connection between the government and the people of Linden.
