The Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Robeson Benn, M.P and the Permanent Secretary, Ms. Mae Toussaint Jr. Thomas, today, July 5, 2022, met with the Guyana Police Force newly promoted Senior Ranks, from Inspector to Assistant Commissioner, at the Officers Training Centre.
Minister Benn congratulated the newly minted Ranks and charged them to acknowledge and live up to their mandate of Service and Protection.
‘Work towards exemplifying, towards demonstrating the proper professional and ethical standards to allow Guyana to develop with safety and security at a high optimal level’, he emphasized.
By doing so, the Minister stated, you can assure yourself and all Guyanese that a better life and a better country can be handed over to the next generation of Guyanese.
Minister Benn further stated, ‘you have perhaps the difficult, onerous and the most risky engagement for the nation, however, this is what you are here for, this is why you have the job, this is why you were promoted and this is what you have to stand up for. For yourself, for the the next generation and thereby your country’.
The 2022 senior ranks promotion is the largest in history for the Guyana Police Force, which saw two hundred and thirty-six (236) senior ranks being recently promoted as the Guyana Police Force observes their 183rd Anniversary.
