The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) met with the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA) in the Conference Hall of the Guyana Forestry Commission. Topics highlighted and discussed pertained to matters of concern by the association which were addressed by the Hon. Ministers and the technical personnel present. The Ministry of Natural Resources and by extension, the Government of Guyana, continues to work along with the mining sector with the aim of development being achieved and maintained.

Present were Minister of Natural Resources, Hon. Vickram Bharrat, M.P., Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Ashni Singh, M.P., Minister of Home Affairs, Hon. Robeson Benn, M.P., Permanent Secretary of the MNR, Mr. Joslyn McKenzie, Commissioner of the GGMC, Mr. Newell Dennison, Chairman of the Board for the GGMC, Mr. Azad Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioners of the GGMC, Mr. Jimmy Reece and Mr. Jacques Foster, Commissioner of the Guyana Forestry Commission, Mr. Edward Goberdhan, Manager of the Guyana Gold Board, Ms. Eondrene Thompson, in addition to other senior staff of the MNR and GGMC.
