Fifteen students from nine schools in the city were honored for their outstanding performance in the Ministry’s Work-Study Attachment Programme. The ten-week program culminated in a ceremony where Minister of Home Affairs, Hon. Robeson Benn, and Permanent Secretary, Mr. Andre Ally, presented the students with gift certificates.
During an appreciation farewell ceremony held in the Ministry’s boardroom, Minister Benn shared insights from his professional journey and offered valuable advice to the students. He encouraged them to choose their career paths early, set clear goals, and leverage technological advancements in their chosen fields.
Permanent Secretary Mr. Andre Ally echoed these sentiments, urging the students to work diligently, maintain focus, and contribute to Guyana’s development.
The Work-Study Attachment Programme, which began on June 17, 2024, was executed in two phases. Its primary focus was to empower students with knowledge about various career paths, teamwork dynamics, work ethics, and essential life skills crucial for navigating the professional world.
The programme concluded with the Ministry’s inaugural Career Fair and Exhibition, providing students with the opportunity to explore exciting job prospects in various public and private sector organizations throughout Guyana.
