Georgetown Guyana- Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Robeson Benn on Wednesday October 21, 2020, held the first in a series of discussions with Minibus Operators, Vendors and other Stakeholders at the Saint Stanislaus College Brickdam, to address the current traffic congestion and road safety issues at the Stabroek Market Square.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Hon. Robeson Benn and Permanent Secretary Ms. Mae Toussaint Jr. Thomas cuts ribbon for the commissioning of the New Brickdam Lock-Up located in the compound of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) ‘A’ Division headquarters, on Brickdam. The facility has the capacity to house fifty-two (52) persons in a humane and clean environment.

Citizens’ Security Strengthening Programme (CSSP) Hands over Crime Mapping Software Equipment

The Ministry of Home Affairs-Crime Observatory Department today 9th October, 2020 receives Crime Mapping Software Equipment from the Citizen’s Security Strengthening Programme (CSSP). Project Manager Dr. Clement Henry handed over an Arcgis Software, 2 GPS Devices, 2 Desktop Computers, and 4 tablets, which will be use to accelerate the digital crime- mapping programme in Guyana. The equipment will be utilised by the Crime Observatory, to plot coordinates, analyse and identify crime hot spots, which will help law enforcement to determine the exact location of frequent crimes, and design crime prevention measures.

NIS Inspectors and Managers receives Trafficking in Persons Victim Identification and Referral Training

Georgetown Guyana-Chairman of the Ministerial Task Force on Trafficking in Persons, Minister of Home Affairs, Honourable Robeson Benn, on Wednesday September 30, 2020 addressed Inspectors and Managers of the National Insurance Scheme (NIS), at the opening of a two-day virtual Trafficking in Persons Victim Identification and Referral Training.

Police Update Regional Security System (RSS) Investigators Arrive in Guyana

A five-member team of Investigators from the Regional Security System, (RSS) arrived in the country today Monday September 28, 2020 intent on assisting the Guyana Police Force with investigations into the recent Murder of Joel Henry, Isiah Henry and Haresh Singh that occurred in the Villages of Cotton Tree and No. 3 on the West Coast of Berbice.

Less speeding and refraining from driving under the influence of alcohol paramount to reducing fatalities on our roads

Georgetown Guyana-Guyana has recorded an increase of road fatalities for the period January 1 –September 14, 2020. This has been revealed by the Guyana Police Force (GPF) Traffic Department Statistics, which show that speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol, are the leading cause of fatal accidents on our roads.

Minister Robeson Benn hands over COVID-19 Protective Equipment to the Guyana Police Force

Georgetown Guyana-The Minister of Home Affairs the Hon.Robeson Benn today handed over a quantity of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Guyana Police Force to aid the fight Against COVID-19. The Equipment which includes the K-95 Masks, protective coveralls, gloves, face shields and protective goggles, were received by the Ministerial Task Force on Trafficking in Persons in the form of a donation from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to aid front line officers from the Guyana Police Force’s Trafficking in Persons Unit (CID),and other departments who are actively involved in the fight against trafficking in persons.
